Just starting Out

Hi all,
So this is the first post what i hope is many to come. I figured i'd let you all in on what i've been up to the past year or so, and what i'm planning on doing in the future.

So this past year has been a very interesting one to say the least. I got home from a shortened Outreach in Thailand on January 3rd or last year. Right off the bat, i wasn't sure what i was going to be doing, so i wasn't able to get a job for the first three months of being home, so it was a lot of sitting around and doing nothing. Once i figured out that i was going to be home for a while, i went on the hunt for a job. Fortunately, Payless right down the road from me was hiring, and i was able to get a job there. We started talking about going on a missions trip to Haiti about June of last year, but quickly decided that we couldn't fundraise enough money for a trip that summer, so we stopped talking for about a month or two. Then people were saying that we could go in December before Christmas. When that option came up, we jumped at it, and started fundraising hardcore. Right around this time, i started to go out to Youth With A Mission Metro New York in Smithtown on Tuesday nights because there were talks of me joining there Outreach to Mexico in January of this year. When December rolled around, things started to get a bit hectic and crazy. I needed to take two weeks off from work. Because of the missions trip and then because i needed to spend the last week of lecture with the students at YWAM Metro NY to get to know them better before we took off for Christmas.

After Christmas break we all met back at the base of YWAM and quickly left for Mexico on January 6 of this year. We spent 6 weeks there doing a variety of things. Prayer Stations, Dramas, Street Kid ministry, Prostitution ministry, etc. We arrived home on February 17 and graduated on the 26th.

I am about to leave for a four month internship in the Philippines on Sunday, the 3rd of April. Then in September of this year, i am hoping, God willing, to go on staff at YWAM Metro NY for two years.

I will be updating my blog once a week from now on, so stay tuned for more news!!

With the wind,
Mark
